BizTalk Consultant 

 

The BizTalk Consultant is responsible for consulting on BizTalk and .NET development projects that can entail web development and/or database analysis.   This position offers opportunities to expand on your experience gained in such technologies as .NET Framework including Smart Client development, Commerce Server, and/or SharePoint/MOSS. 

Role Summary:

The BizTalk Consultant is responsible for a variety of roles including design, architecture and technical leadership supporting full project life cycle initiatives.  The role involves pre-sales support including project definition, scoping/sizing, analysis of technical alternatives, and the presentations and/or proposal of results.  The primary role is to serve on project development teams, providing technical solutions, tool/software alternatives and capabilities, design specifications, and recommendations related to technical issues.  The position may mentor other team members including client personnel.  

BizTalk Consultant Requirements:

  • Over 10 years of practical experience in development with consulting experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Object Oriented concepts, Development Methodologies (RUP/UML), and Analysis techniques.
  • Diverse technical background with experience in various roles, platforms, architectures, packages and technologies
  • Proven track record in core skills for development, centering around customer, project and client/staff deliverables
  • Professional image and demeanor with the ability to present oneself in a consultative, confident manner
  • Strong career interest with a focus on professional improvement
  • Exposure to leadership role a plus
  • Minimum Bachelors Degree in an IT-related field
  • Development language certifications a plus
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be productive independently and/or as a team member
  • Presentation skills a plus
  • Diverse understanding of industry based tools, software and techniques
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic estimating procedures, capable of assembling a basic project plan and good work tracking habits

Successful candidates will have in depth knowledge of OO Tools/Technologies:

  • Front-end: ASP.NET, Windows Forms, ASP, JSP, HTML, XML, 3rd Party
  • Middleware:  COM+/DCOM, 
  • Database:  SQL Server, Oracle, Informix, DB2
  • Languages:  C#, VB.NET, VB, C++
  • Tools:  MS Office, MS Project, Visio, Rational Rose (or similar), Source Safe, Erwin
  • Testing Tools:  Rational, Mercury Interactive, Seagate, NUnit/JUnit
