Portals Architect / Strategist 

 

Position Description:

The Portals Architect/Strategist position is responsible for consulting on Portal implementation or upgrade projects that will involve the latest version of MS SharePoint Technologies.   This position is for a permanent position with diversity and growth opportunities.

Role Summary:

The Portals Architect/Strategist is responsible for a variety of roles ranging from strategic planning, analysis and technical leadership.  The primary role is to lead efforts to identify and create solutions using Portals technologies.  This person may serve on project development teams, providing technical solutions, tool/software alternatives and capabilities, design specifications, and recommendations related to technical issues.  Occasionally the position may mentor other team members including client personnel.   

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Over 10 years of practical experience in development with consulting experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge and experience in Object Oriented concepts, Development Methodologies (RUP/UML), and Analysis techniques.
  • Diverse technical background with experience in various roles, platforms, architectures, packages and technologies
  • Proven track record in core skills for development, centering around customer, project and client/staff deliverables
  • Professional image and demeanor with the ability to present oneself in a consultative, confident manner
  • Strong career interest with a focus on professional improvement
  • Exposure to leadership role a plus
  • Minimum Bachelors Degree in an IT-related field
  • Development language certifications a plus
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to be productive independently and/or as a team member
  • Presentation skills a plus
  • Diverse understanding of industry based tools, software and techniques
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic estimating procedures, capable of assembling a basic project plan and good work tracking habits
  • In depth knowledge of specific Tools/Technologies:
    • SharePoint Portal Server (SPS)
    • Windows SharePoint Services (WSS)
    • Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS 2007)
