Position Description:
Our Project Managers are responsible for consulting on, or managing, projects involving software development, IT Strategic Planning, Systems and Software Selections or Disaster Recovery. Other responsibilities could include Project Management Organization (PMO) development, Microsoft Office Project Server implementations, Microsoft Office Portfolio Server implementations, testing and documentation.
The primary responsibilities of the Project Managers we need to add to our team in either Nashville or St. Louis are Project Managers that have led Microsoft Project Server and/or Portfolio Server implementations.
Role Summary:
The Project Server Project Manager handles a variety of roles ranging from managing projects to leading project sales pursuits to becoming a trusted advisor to our clients. The role may involve pre-sales support, including project definition, scoping/sizing, analysis of technical alternatives, plus the presentation and/or proposal of results. The primary role is post-sales delivery of projects – ensuring on time and on budget, potentially in an individual and/or team environment, within a new development or project enhancement.
In addition, the role requires the individual to serve as a liaison between the client, project members and Oakwood Systems Group management, providing status, establishing expectations, addressing issues/concerns, building team effectiveness, and managing timelines, deliverables and costs. This individual will also serve the role, in concert with the development and engineering groups, of defining, updating and maintaining Oakwood’s project methodologies.
Primary Tasks:

Manage IT consulting projects as assigned, using Oakwood’s Methodologies (PMI based)

Assist and facilitate the analysis, design and requirements definition on full cycle implementation or development projects.

Plan and implement Microsoft Project/Portfolio Server, ERP, CRM or other enterprise software packages.

Track and Communicate project status with management and team members

Facilitate project meetings

Perform requirements gathering using techniques including Use Case analysis, group or individual interviews.

Facilitate and lead a Structured Software Selection process to aid clients in finding, detailing and implementing replacement software packages.

Facilitate the creation of Disaster Recovery plans and projects

Develop and maintain expertise in one or more of Oakwood’s product and service offerings
Required Skills and Experience:

Experience leading at a minimum one enterprise-wide Microsoft Project Server or Portfolio Management implementation

Knowledge and experience with requirements gathering techniques including Joint Application Development (JAD), One-on-One Interviews, Use Case development

Experience working with structured methodologies

Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management, as well as the business and technical communities

Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation abilities

Demonstrated ability to be productive independently and/or as a team member

Five years experience in business and a Masters in Business Administration preferred

Consulting experience in deploying software is a plus
