Lodging Hospitality Management (LHM) was established in 1986 with its focus on management and sound opportunistic investments in the hospitality industry.  Their portfolio includes Hilton St. Louis at the Ballparks, Hilton Airport, Marriott Airport, Union Station Hotel, Sheraton Westport Lakeside Chalet and Sheraton Plaza Tower Hotels, along with other hotel properties and prominent restaurants.

Business Challenge

The company suffered a failure of their on-premise Microsoft Exchange email server.  This was a complete failure.  Recovery required tape backups and pst file imports.  Their IT team struggled to successfully recover from this catastrophic failure.  What was very clear was that a new level of protection was needed.  After looking into other very costly on-premise options, they made the choice to move their e-mail to the cloud and reached out to Oakwood  to guide a Microsoft Office 365 implementation.

Our Solution

Oakwood immediately assessed the situation, and presented LHM with a plan to move existing email operations into Office 365, in the form of a Hybrid Exchange/O365 Architecture.  Our team began work on this important initiative and migrated Exchange mailbox users into Office 365 environment.

Results

With the infrastructure built and migrations successfully underway, LHM took over migration duties from Oakwood and are currently enjoying a successful transition from their Legacy Exchange environment into their new fault tolerant Office 365 platform.  Oakwood resolved all issues and Lodging Hospitality Management is enjoying a robust and user-friendly Office 365 experience.  By selecting the right partner the first time, one with a deep understanding of the technology and a proven track record, LHM realized they can minimize issues and maintain credibility in their email platform.
