Brown School at Washington University Partners with Oakwood for Intranet Production

The George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis, MO announced today plans to move forward on the production of an intranet site for the school.  Implementation of the intranet site will be completed by Oakwood Systems Group, who completed the school’s Internet site in January of 2007.

This intranet site development will give all Brown School students, staff, and faculty a variety of capabilities, including advanced content management, collaboration, and ease of use.  The site is being developed in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 (MOSS 2007) to maintain compatibility and cross-site economies-of-scale with the recently completed Internet site.

As Brown School looked for ways to create more strategic, integrated, and audience-specific communications, a variety of channels, including web and print, was considered.  Brown School worked with TOKY Branding+Design to re-brand the school across all printed material as well as redesigning the school’s website.  This intranet site development extends the branding and functionality to Brown School’s internal audience.

The decision to partner with Oakwood was based on Oakwood’s expertise in developing state-of-the-art websites in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 as well as the relationship between Oakwood and Brown School as a result of the successful Internet project.
