Oakwood Brings Scott Baxter Aboard as its New Director of Advanced Infrastructure Solutions

Oakwood Systems Group is pleased to announce the addition of Scott Baxter as its new Director of Advanced Infrastructure Solutions (AIS).  Baxter comes to Oakwood with over 20 years of IT experience in a broad range of industries and disciplines at companies such as Express Scripts, Donaldson Company, Pella Windows, Union Pacific Railroad and Computer Associates.

Throughout the course of his career, Baxter has focused on infrastructure re-engineering and updating to achieve business objectives of growth and strategic application support.  In his 10 years with Computer Associates, he managed presales activities and service delivery projects for the organization’s infrastructure management portfolio in its Midwest region.  During his tenure at Union Pacific, Baxter defined the organization’s enterprise-wide infrastructure management architecture and led its deployment.  At Pella, he re-engineered the organization’s UNIX and desktop infrastructures and migrated its network from a single bridged subnet to a routed and switched fabric managed through Network General appliances and HP OpenView.  In each of his roles, Scott has focused on tight alignment of infrastructure change with specific business objectives, whether as an external solution provider or an internal change agent within an organization.

Oakwood’s AIS practice is focused on helping organizations advance their strategic infrastructure goals through the application of appropriate technology enablers.  Through assisting organizations in creating the right foundation on which to build their infrastructure, implementing the right systems to manage the entire network, and embedding the right tools to create a fully secure network, Oakwood’s complete AIS practice is capable of assisting any organization with their infrastructure needs.

At Oakwood, Baxter will lead AIS consultants in the development and execution of client-centric infrastructure solutions and the development of new AIS offerings that leverage all of Oakwood’s practices to meet the ever changing dynamics of technology infrastructure in the world today.
