Sitrion and Oakwood Systems Group Announce Partnership for SAP-to-Microsoft Integration
Sitrion, a global leader in integrating SAP to the Microsoft platform, has selected Oakwood Systems Group, Inc. as a strategic U.S. partner.
Building on Oakwood’s business process competencies and strength in the Microsoft platform, particularly in SharePoint, .NET development, and BizTalk, Oakwood is uniquely qualified to work with organizations which have made significant investments in SAP.
Through SitrionSuite, SAP information and processes can be exposed directly to Microsoft technologies and utilized in SharePoint, .NET, and Silverlight application, as well as in Microsoft Azure, creating applications that bi-directionally connect SAP to the cloud.
The SitrionSuite includes more than fifty pre-built templates, including Employee Self-Service and Manager Self-Service portals. As a Sitrion partner, Oakwood has also developed Sitrion templates for SAP, including one that initiates a vendor pre-qualification process.
SitrionSuite is in use by more than 200,000 users worldwide, including users at Microsoft Corporation, Lego, Pitney Bowes, AMD, Loreal, BP, and eBay.
Oakwood Systems Group has been working with the Sitrion platform extensively, and a group of Oakwood team members are certified on the SitrionSuite. “Many of our clients are also SAP clients,” states Doug Neff, Oakwood’s VP of Business Technology Solutions, which includes both the Custom Development Practice and the Portals & Collaboration Practice. “Using Sitrion to communicate directly to the SAP platform has allowed our clients to leverage their existing Microsoft investments, while also leveraging their significant investment in the SAP platform. This solution puts the SAP processes, which are often complex and cryptic, into the hands of casual users in intuitive ways. The SAP investment is extended in a platform that allows for significant corporate growth and agility. It’s a win/win.”
By using SAP to run the business in the core, while leveraging the Microsoft technologies to innovate and grow the business on the edge, clients experience the best of both worlds while controlling costs and leveraging existing technology knowledge. “Since all of the development in Sitrion is .NET-based,” Neff concludes, “clients can use existing resources, or easy-to-find resources, to extend the SAP environment.”
