Oakwood Systems Group, Inc. had more attendees present at the St. Louis Day of .NET than any other organization who participated, with a total of twenty-six developers, architects, and analysts attending the weekend event. In addition, Oakwood participated in the event as a corporate sponsor.
“We chose to make an investment to send as many team members as wanted to go,” said Doug Neff, Oakwood’s Vice President of Business Application Solutions and BI. “We felt it would be a great opportunity to hear what others are doing and to validate our knowledge and direction.”
According to Linda Bersch, Oakwood’s Recruiting Manager, the event was a success on many levels. “It is always good to be out in the community, sharing our experiences and hearing about others. We made a lot of great contacts with clients as well as colleagues in the industry. I enjoyed being part of such an impressive team and representing Oakwood in our booth at the conference.”
Oakwood team members were equally enthusiastic about the conference. “I really enjoyed networking with fellow St. Louis .NET developers. The facilities and presenters were outstanding. Being a seasoned Adobe Photoshop and Flash veteran, I especially enjoyed Denny Boynton’s Microsoft Expression Blend session,” said a manager in Oakwood’s Custom and Web Development team. From a senior consultant in Oakwood’s Business Intelligence practice, “It was great getting to meet and speak with some of the best local and regional SQL Server talent!” And according to a senior consultant in the Portals and Collaboration team, “It was fun to connect with a community of people who have similar professional interests.”
The Oakwood team members were easily picked out of the crowd, as all were wearing Oakwood shirts. Oakwood also gave away multiple Borders gift cards in attendee drawings.
